Karen Shiraishi *Happy Hour Concert Series* featuringKaren ShiraishiKaren Shiraishi is a British-Japanese pianist and composer based in New Orleans. Arecipient of the Chamber Music America Performance Plus grant, Shiraishis debutalbum featuring Herlin Riley, Max Moran, Andrew Baham and Julian Lee, is set to bereleased in 2026. Already having developed a self-assured, recognisable voice as acomposer and improviser, her music is melodically driven, harmonically rich, andimbued with swing. She has gained attention in the traditional music scene,appearing with Shannon Powell, Kermit Ruffins, Stephen Walker and thePreservation Hall All-Stars. She has also established herself as a highly sought-aftersideman in the straight-ahead scene and leads a weekly jam session at Vaughanslounge alongside saxophonist Orlando Lil Prince Gilbert.Doors: 4 pm Show: 4:30 - 6 pmSnug Harbor Jazz Bistro presents live weekly concerts.
